Food retailer LCGK and SAP Business One in the cloud

The fast-growing grocer LCGK in Ludwigshafen supplies over 400 EDEKA stores with both its own-brand food products and third-party products. CEO Mert Philip Karpuz recalls: "When we had 200 customers, things became confusing." To restore order in his start-up, he enlisted the help of the SAP partner conesprit for the introduction of the ERP system SAP Business One as a cloud-based solution and is now more than satisfied with it.
Rapidly growing start-up
Karpuz started out alone in his office; after two months, there were three of them, and LCGK now employs ten people. Growth was rapid, but the software didn't keep pace; everything was done via paper, email, phone, fax, and online lists.
SAP Business One as a cloud-based solution
In his search for processes and structure, Karpuz researched ERP systems and SAP extensively and ultimately decided on SAP Business One “[…] because it is available in the cloud if desired."
Implementation according to the approach: THINK BIG, start small
"For small companies, it is not advisable to launch large implementation projects."
Together with SAP partner Roman Douverne from conesprit GmbH SAP Business One was successfully implemented in the cloud at the grocery retailer LCGK. The advantages for Karpuz: The ERP is available everywhere, which is important for him since they work at different locations. There's no need to worry about the operating system (Windows or Mac OS), nor does he need to purchase new hardware or hire a technician.
Easy introduction via video telephony and online workshops
The ERP system was implemented exclusively via video telephony and an online workshop database. This is a great advantage, especially in these times when many companies are working from home.
Added value through SAP Business One in the cloud
Structured processes, transparent task allocation, a shared information hub for everyone, and the software grows with the company. Kapurz: “With SAP Business One, I felt for the first time that we were a real company.“
"By choosing SAP's ERP system, I put the first carabiner in the wall to support the company."
